The Natural Wonder Trails
The Holt Fairy DoorS Trail
About the Trail
We are pleased to share a new Fairy Door trail at Holt, made in collaboration with schools in North Norfolk, Norwich Men’s Shed, Norfolk Libraries and Friends of Holt Library – thanks to support from North Norfolk District Council and Holt Town Council.
This special trail features 12 magical doors placed across Holt designed by children at Holt Primary School, with poems celebrating trees written by children at Fakenham Juniors with writer Ruthie Collins, behind each door. There is also a new poem from Ruthie Collins – The Owl Fairies of Holt from the Natural Wonder series, inspired by local species of owl spotted by residents and the Legend of the Holt Owl. The trail is being launched in Holt as part of the Jubilee celebrations in June, 2022.
The tree poems were inspired by local trees, tree planting in North Norfolk and come with an invitation to enjoy and connect to the magic of nature and the biodiversity and life that the natural world helps to sustain.
