A Few Words About Us

RUTHIE COLLINS

It’s a joy to be working on Natural Wonder to accompany the creation of a new series of poems inspiring connection to the natural world funded by Arts Council England.

I’m writing poems inspired by the natural world, biodiversity and connection to nature with educational and wellbeing trails and resources to help people, schools, communities and families access nature and literature. The series is being shaped by children, residents, world class environmental educators and experts and has participatory arts and outdoor learning at its heart.

While writing the series, magical nature trails celebrating our connection to the natural world are appearing across Norfolk helping increase access to nature and literature – supported by Norwich Men’s Shed, The Broads Authority, North Norfolk District Council and many more, with special thanks to National Centre for Writing.

The series helps improve access to nature and has its own Natural Wonder Learning Framework, linking to the National Curriculum, plus leading environmental education initiatives such as the John Muir Award. Watch out for The Last Eel on Earth, an interactive poem first performed to children for National Poetry Day, raising awareness about the illegal trafficking of eel; Bats About Bats! – inspired by the bats that live around us – and many more.
