This beautiful species loves to eat nettles, hops, hibernate in dead leaves and appears from Spring/Summer near rivers and waterways as a splash of red! It’s seen as an amazing success story as its numbers have increased so much in recent years. Why note help spot it as part of the Great Butterfly Count that runs until 6th August?
