Description of your activity
Celebrate National Marine Week by visiting West Runton beach with friends old and new with Natural Wonder. Enjoy a workshop with Norfolk Wildlife Trust, enjoy this stunning beach in a safe, small group and leave with copies of sea inspired poems. Have fun!
What will they need
Please pack a water bottle and if possible a sun hat and indicate if you have jelly shoes for the beach – we may be able to provide these with grant funding but will need to know in advance your child’s shoe size. We will have suncream but feel free to apply before the children arrive as well.
Children will be provided with a lunch and the team will be in touch to check any extra needs they might have too.
Who can join
This is a trip suitable for children aged 5-13. It’s open to mixed genders and the small group size ensures a fun, welcoming environment to put children at ease and help them make friends.
Older children aged 11-13 will have the chance to gain a Nature Guide certificate to give a talk to younger children as part of the day.
What to expect
Happy memories and fun at the beach! Travel is provided from Norwich to West Runton on the train. Celebrate National Marine Week and enjoy learning all about marine-life, fossils and the sea. What wildlife lives in the sea and coast? How can we care for them? Gain leadership skills helping to care for marine life and the natural world.
Please note that children will not be going into the sea itself to ensure safety.
Location
Please meet at Norwich Train Station outside the front of the station at 9.15am. A member of the team will collect your child and staff will supervise the group to West Runton. Pick up is 3.45pm from outside of the train station at the front.
